Our GOAT is WASHED, Lil Uzi Vert releases “Eternal Atake 2”…

Lil Uzi Vert, "Eternal Atake 2”

Lil Uzi Vert released the “Eternal Atake 2” project this past Friday, and it was met with mixed reviews. This was after his “Pink Tape” release from 2023, which was released with much hype and anticipation. Fans loved it, but the album didn’t have much replay value, as many fans wanted more from the rapper. This release was peculiarly timed, as Uzi hadn’t released music so consistently since 2017. There was a three-year gap between “Luv Is Rage” (2017), “Eternal Atake Deluxe” (2020), and “Pink Tape” (2023). Was this release premature? The music that was in it sure made many think that.

I’ve been listening to Lil Uzi Vert since the good ole’ SoundCloud days. And I don’t recall ever hearing a worse project from the rapper. He’s one of those guys you can rely on for an excellent or decent project. Never a mediocre or bad one. Although the past two had had a mixed reception, they both had hits. This album had nothing of substance. It was 49 minutes of sound. It was an absolute disappointment. There were moments in the project that made me think the album could improve, but I was wrong. The beats were nice, but most were not “Uzi beats.” If I had to summarize this album in one sentence, it’d be: This is Uzi’s worst Playboi Carti imitation. The voice changes in songs didn’t sound right.

I thought that Carti hopped on the track with crappy vocals. It was just Uzi. I liked one song, “Light Year (Practice).” Even the Big Time Rush song was mid. I hate to say this, but our great Lil Uzi Vert may be washed. This album was a five at best out of 10. I had to go back to the “Luv Is Rage” and “The Perfect LUV Tape” albums to remind myself what I’m used to hearing from Uzi. This album was nowhere near that. I listened to it a few times, and my opinion did not change; I almost shed a thug tear. Our goat is washed. 5/10.
