FORGET MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL… the Jets have FINALLY acquired WR Davante Adams. The Green Bay duo has reunited in New York. On Tuesday morning, the Jets publicly finalized a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders for WR Davante Adams in exchange for a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-round pick if he makes it to an All-Pro team or if the Jets make it to the AFC Championship/ Super Bowl. It is a great deal for the Jets, and New York is buzzing again. According to Aaron Rodgers on The Pat McAfee Show, the deal was reportedly agreed upon at midnight. The new Jets WR made an appearance with Rodgers and seemed very happy. Davante will continue to wear #17 as the Jets shop advertised; rookie WR Malachi Corley will have to find a new number midseason.

The Jets have a second chance this season. They face the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football; what better way than that game to make a statement? The Jets have agreed to take on his contract and have reconstructed it with voidable years in 25’ and 26’. It is a huge pickup for Gang Green for such an affordable price. It is now reported that Jets WR Mike Williams will be shopped and dealt by the trade deadline in November. The Bills also made a deal for WR Amari Cooper from the Browns for a similar package.

The Adams trade is a clear win-now move, and I assume owner Woody Johnson and GM Joe Douglas realize this is one shot-one kill. A third year with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback is unlikely, but we’ve seen crazier things happen. The Jets also have new updates from the Haason Reddick holdout. He was let go by his agency and has signed with agent Drew Rosenhaus, and the Jets have agreed to allow him to seek a trade. However, Rosenhaus has repeatedly stated that Haason wants to strike a deal with the Jets for the season and a long-term contract with them in the offseason. The validity behind that is unknown, as Haason has not shown it, but who knows?

It’s a great day for the Jets, who have another shot at the season. With this new-powered offense, they can easily be back in the conversation for the playoffs.
