The Miracle Mets Have Done It Again, Off to the NLCS

Mets SS Francisco Lindor hits game-series winning grand slam, via MLB.com

The Miracle Mets HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! The gift that keeps on giving is the 2024 New York Mets. They've eliminated the Philadelphia Phillies from the postseason after winning the NLDS with a 3-1 series win. The drama in game four was extraordinary: a spectacular GRAND SLAM from Francisco Lindor to crack the game open for the Mets and bring them the win. The Mets' pitching held up the whole series, and the bats got hot. It doesn't matter how you do from April to September but how you perform in October, and the Mets are the definition of that.

The Phillies didn't have much to fight back with, even when having 1B Bryce Harper, DH Kyle Schwarber, OF Nick Castellanos, SS Trea Turner, and C J.T. Realmuto all in the same lineup. They are all fantastic players and couldn't muster anything a single run up. The Mets look legitimate and have been headed for the NLCS for the first time since 2015 when they lost the World Series to the Kansas City Royals. There's no Matt Harvey on this team, so they'll look to make a run for the gold. However, they'll meet the Dodgers or Padres in the championship series. Both stacked offenses, but that's nothing new for the Mets. This team is being managed perfectly by manager Carlos Mendoza, he's got great timing when he puts in his pitchers and certain batters in certain situations. Could the Mets be headed to the World Series? Another Subway Series in 2024?
