Tyler, The Creator releases “Chromakopia” and Lil Uzi Vert announces “Eternal Atake 2”
It is an exciting week ahead for Hip Hop. Two of the game's biggest stars are set to release highly-anticipated albums.
Tyler, The Creator has been silent since the 2021 Grammy-winning release of "Call Me If You Get Lost." After the announcement last week, fans have been showing excitement and can't wait to see what this next stage holds for Tyler. This morning, he released his seventh studio album, "Chromakopia," which has been met with lots of love. Fans have been raving over the album since it was released only hours ago. I have yet to listen to it, but the snippets have been hit or miss for me. Tyler is known for his ground-setting sound, and only time will tell what long-term impact this album will have on the landscape of the rap game.
LIL UZI is back. After the successful yet highly criticized "Pink Tape" album that Uzi released in 2023, he's set to return with the prequel "Eternal Atake 2". Uzi announced this late last week at midnight, and it immediately went trending worldwide. People couldn't believe Tyler and Uzi could drop in the same week. Uzi announced the release date for the album to be Friday, November 1st, 2024. The original "Eternal Atake," released in 2020, right before the pandemic, became a social classic as every teenager got that alert during class that Uzi finally dropped the highly-anticipated "Eternal Atake." Now, will the album be released on Friday? Only Uzi knows. He's been known for his trolling and postponement of albums, but he has recently delivered whenever he has a solidified date. Two straight years of Uzi music feels so unrealistic due to his nature of spacing out his rollouts, but if Uzi says it's time, then it's time. It's been a very active year for Hip Hop.
2024 has been electric, starting with the releases of 21 Savage's "American Dream," Ye and Ty Dolla Sign's "Vultures 1 and 2", Future and Metro Boomin's "We Don't Trust You" albums that began the historic Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef and many other great projects. This year even saw legends like LL Cool J, Eminem and Pete Rock make their return to the mainstream scene. It's been an incredible year for hip-hop, and it will only get better with these two projects. This doesn't even include the expected releases of "I AM MUSIC" from Playboi Carti, "Bully" solo project from Ye, the consistently delayed "Don't Be Dumb" A$AP Rocky album, and rumors of a Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keep project that was set to begin production after the Drake beef. It's a great time to be a fan.
Tyler and Uzi are taking over the rap game in the same week.
